Our Grand East Coast Adventure is having a special time in our nations capitol. The monuments are simply amazing – and bring feelings of awe to all of us. One of our favorites is the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial. It covers more than 4 acres – and has a “room” – in the great outdoors, to memorialize each of his 4 terms as President. Excerpts from his many speeches are carved in the marble as we pass thru each “room” – and it is so gripping to see them and realize that they were so important and inspirational in his time – AND are so very pertinent to our times and tribulations today. We have a great guide for our time in DC too: George is a true font of information on all that is special in this great city. We enjoy our “walks” along the tidal basin, looking across the water to the beautiful Jefferson Memorial.
